This Time, Completely In Whale

I'm crying already...

Wherein Finding Nemo was a literal title, it looks like the sequel will have more of a metaphorical meaning, exploring the emotional and psychological aspects of coming to "find" yourself. Because the sequel is officially called Finding Dory. Which really screws with alphabetical shelf order, but anyway...

According to director Andrew Stanton, the film will take place about a year after the original, and see Dory travel to the California coast, and explore why and how she was all alone in Australian waters at the beginning of Nemo. Said Stanton:
"One thing we couldn’t stop thinking about was why she was all alone in the ocean on the day she met Marlin. In ‘Finding Dory,’ she will be reunited with her loved ones, learning a few things about the meaning of family along the way."
Ellen DeGeneres is returning as the voice of Dory, and Albert Brooks will return as Marlin in the film expected out in November 2015. And I will freely admit to thinking this was Pixar's attempt at an April Fool's Day joke. I'm glad it isn't.
